The Civic Opportunity Project will seek to provide a curated journey for Civic Tech volunteers. Our goal is to equip participants with the resources, exposure and toolsets to excel in a competitive workforce. Overview

We need to have seperate documents for each role description category so that we can list/link to them on the website via the open roles, and use them for our job posts.

@ExperimentsInHonesty - Let's review this as a potential template to use for the individual Role Descriptions: HfLA Role Definition Template

ExperimentsInHonesty commented 4 years ago

@rfambro2 the template looks good to me.

ExperimentsInHonesty commented 4 years ago

@tan-zhou please create the UI/UX role doc from template and create it in the role folder.

ExperimentsInHonesty commented 4 years ago

@rfambro2 turns out we need a few more pieces of info for the template. Tan is going to take a pass at it, based on these fields and their constraint info from this screenshot https://github.com/hackforla/civic-opportunity/issues/59#issuecomment-692968015

tan-zhou commented 4 years ago

@ExperimentsInHonesty @rfambro2 I added more info to the template based on fields from the Volunteer Match screenshot. Please review.

rfambro2 commented 4 years ago

@ExperimentsInHonesty @tan-zhou - Great! Let's take a look at this today.

rfambro2 commented 4 years ago

@ExperimentsInHonesty - Will set up 1password and share today. @tan-zhou - Tan will access and update description/positions for character limit.

tan-zhou commented 4 years ago

Added constraints/character limits to Volunteer Match template. Will go on and populate the HfLA UX/UI role definition.

rfambro2 commented 4 years ago

@tan-zhou - Thanks! Can you also add the constraints for Gen-Do? Here is the website link https://generationdoit.org/findintern

rfambro2 commented 4 years ago

@tan-zhou - You and I can split up the rest of the roles

tan-zhou commented 3 years ago

we need to separate content from ui/ux. separate qa from development, Ops from data

rfambro2 commented 3 years ago

Per discussion in 11/22 meeting, @tan-zhou will separate the remaining roles to align with the role categories on the HfLA website.

tan-zhou commented 3 years ago

I updated the previously mentioned categories and created separate documents for Ops, Content, and QA.

rfambro2 commented 3 years ago

@ExperimentsInHonesty - Bonnie will make a template issue for creating Role description Markdown files with separate MD file per role which will require Field category. https://github.com/100Automations/Website/issues/43

@tan-zhou - Will revise descriptions to remove excess information (Seniority Level, Industry, Job Function, etc)

tan-zhou commented 3 years ago

I updated all role documents

tan-zhou commented 3 years ago

@Olivia-Chiong Please check the Resources/Instructions - Marketing under Role Definition. Slack me if you have any questions! Thanks

Olivia-Chiong commented 3 years ago

@tan-zhou I've provided two comments that we should update for the Director of Marketing Role. Hope this helps.

rfambro2 commented 3 years ago

@Olivia-Chiong - Thanks. This has been updated in the Role Description and incorporated into the Markdown file.

ExperimentsInHonesty commented 3 years ago

reach out to fundraising to have them test the new template https://github.com/hackforla/civic-opportunity/blob/master/roles-1/README.md

ExperimentsInHonesty commented 3 years ago

sent chelsey message today to add to this weeks agenda

ExperimentsInHonesty commented 3 years ago

We need to have someone create an issue on the https://github.com/hackforla/revenue repo to use the template to take the roles that chelsey made and see if the template works.
