@ryanmswan Please get back to dan when you can and copy 311-data@hackforla.org. Thanks!
Here's the full email chain: Yes, bike and ped accident stats with location would also be helpful. Anything to help understand where improvements to bike or ped lanes/crossings would be most likely to increase foot and bike traffic and/or reduce accidents.
Thanks, Dan

Thanks for sharing your idea! I'll bet we could find at least something on pedestrian and bike accidents.
I've put your request into a ticket and am running it by our data team to see what we can find and what our timeline could be.
I also added 311-data@hackforla.org to our email chain so we have a record there. 311-data@hackforla.org will be our main address to receive requests and keep a record of communication. Bonnie and I receive all emails that go to this address.
Best,
John

Next Steps
Hi Dan,
Sorry for the delay, we had data science people working on this, but some leadership turnover happened, and we dropped the ball. We now have a presentation we would like to show you.
I have copied the datascience team lead Abe on this email (datascience@hackforla.org), please reply to us both.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Bonnie
@henrykaplan can you add a size label to this issue
Hey @henrykaplan, is this issue still actively being worked on? I believe you did your analysis of the pedestrian and bike data when you made the presentation but I wanted to make sure there weren't still action items here that needed to be worked on.
This issue has been replaced by https://github.com/hackforla/data-science/issues/108
Description
Dan Kegal (Neighborhood Council Member on GWNC) is looking for the data below to help consider areas to prioritize pedestrian and bike improvements

Hi Bonnie, I remember your group was looking for ways neighborhood councils could use help with data. Well, I just ran across one.
GWNC and a few other NCs are currently considering proposing street improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists, and it would help to have data on pedestrian and bicycle traffic on all streets in a NC. Presumably it would further be useful to be able to rank street segments by total pedestrian + bike traffic, or something like that.
Also presumably the newfangled way to get that kind of info is by estimating it from cellphone location data, but maybe other sources are still useful.
I haven't looked for any of this yet, just thought I'd share the need.
