Overview

We want to analyze the California Grants Portal Dataset to determine the feasibility of building a tool for public use.

Action Items

[x] Perform exploratory data analysis [EDA] on the Grants Portal dataset.
- [x] See EDA section of tutorial here
[x] Attach findings (write-ups, notebooks, etc.) to this issue.

analysis on money per grant by agency
crated csv files for cleaned datasets
binary columns created for each unique category

Hi! I'm pretty much done with all of the goals I set with my second notebook. I presented last week but forgot to update here, sorry. I'm looking forward to more feedback and direction next meeting!

Updates (8/25):

Explored distinction between loans and grants
Polished binary column creating function
Wrote function to explore grants' descriptions using keyword analysis

analyzed which two columns were most statistically similar in terms of their keyword analyses
