Outline for leads recruitment:

• Post card on Open Roles board
• Post in Community Leads Open Roles wiki
• Notify community in Slack
• Notify community in CoP meeting
• Host an info session with interested parties
• Interview candidates with the other leads to make sure:
  • They are able to commit to at least 6 months
  • They are available to come to Thursday meetings
  • They are able to participate in meaningful conversation and interested in community development ('Why are you interested in this role?)
• Onboard the selected new lead

Outline for mentor recruitment:

Background:

Mentors are always in demand. Potential mentors can find an open role card here which will lead them to the wiki which will direct them to fill out this form to show their interest. When someone fills out that form, it will send a notification to engineering@hackforla.com, which will forward to all of the current community leads. You can also find the results of the form here.

So that is what the process looks like on the candidate's side. Here is what you need to do...

Action Items:

• Check the open roles board and make sure the 'Engineer Mentors' card:
  • is posted under 'Community Lead'
  • the link goes to the correct wiki posting for more details
• Check the leads open roles wiki page and make sure the 'Engineering Mentors Wanted!' section:
  • correctly links back to the card on the open roles board
  • has correct information
  • correctly links to the 'Engineering Mentor Interest Form'
• Let the community know we are looking via:
  • Slack
  • In the meetings
• Optional: Ask in a Zoom poll if people are interested in building leadership skills and reach out to them directly
• Schedule and host an info session to anyone interested in mentoring but are on the fence when needed
• Review responses to form and reach out to qualified candidates to confirm their availability
• Onboard them
