About the project:
Expunge Assist is a free digital tool designed to aid Californians with arrest and conviction histories in clearing their criminal records. A personal statement is the most important proof of rehabilitation filed with an expungement petition. Our letter generator helps people write their statements to the court. The tool does not rely on AI, protects personal privacy, and does not store sensitive information. Community organizers, government agencies, and legal advocates in the clean slate and criminal justice fields are making an incredible impact. Expunge Assist aims to support that work.
Volunteer Opportunity: Expunge assist is (urgently!) looking for 1 new Product Manager for the Content team
Product Manager(PM) in Content
Expunge Assist is seeking a PM to support Content in their work, assist with roadmapping, Github management and other project management tasks. The PM will support Content and help to develop and build the team as we continue in our growth phase. The PM will work closely with Content leads and the cross-functional PMs/teams.
What You’ll Do:
Attend our weekly meetings and get familiarized with our product and users Work collaboratively with Content Leads and cross-functionally with the other teams and PMs Discuss strategy and big picture goals through PM meetings and meetings with Bonnie PM will work closely with Content leads, and may choose to divide certain tasks (for example: running meetings) Manage Github (for ex. label check), roadmapping, and project management and help keep the team on track, motivated, and supported in their work Broadly, the PM will support and advocate for Content's work and keep the team momentum. You don't need to have previous Content experience, only a positive and supportive mindset and an interest in developing a "manager's" toolbox to support the work flow/process

Meeting Times: Content team meeting: Thursdays at 12 noon PST
PM Meeting: (time currently being revised) All Teams Meeting: Every first Friday of the month at 10:30 AM PST (also currently being revised to once weekly)
