Overview

We need to perform a comparative/competitive analysis to understand our offering in the marketplace against other people who offer unpaid internships

Scholarship programs

Programs that do what https://internworks.com/programs/ do, but that don't charge. e.g. Greenwood Scholars

@bilkishgautham Please provide update and a link to the spreadsheet you have created.

  1. Progress: "What is the current status of your project? What have you completed and what is left to do?"
  2. Blockers: "Difficulties or errors encountered."
  3. Availability: "How much time will you have this week to work on this issue?"
  4. ETA: "When do you expect this issue to be completed?"
  5. Pictures (if necessary): "Add any pictures that will help illustrate what you are working on."

@ExperimentsInHonesty Please find the attached link. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rEfLJt4IvT4ItZwe8jnDQkjdQT44rubp9u_eG-IzE9k/

  1. Have listed down few companies and some analysis. I will look if there are similar orgs like ours so we have better comparison metrics. Did not find much as of now. Will take care of formatting as I go.

  2. Blockers - a. Analysis needed a little more deep dive since internships were posted on career boards b. Needed more refined keywords to get more productive results.

  3. Besides the meetings, I can put in an hour everyday.

  4. Will get an idea once I get the initial review done by you. If all goes well then by this Friday.

  1. Have found some more companies doing unpaid internships. Still in process of their detailed analysis.
  2. Blockers - I was unwell and had a flooding in my house on Tuesday which slowed down things a bit.
  3. This week has been a little chaotic on the personal front so the hours could be anywhere between 30 -45 minutes.
  4. Since I have few more companies added to the list I should be done by Monday 7th March 2022.

Have added my keyword analysis in the second tab of this sheet. Don't see any more unpaid internship organizations. Need to check with @ExperimentsInHonesty about https://www.scfta.org/ and https://www.youthlinc.org/

ExperimentsInHonesty commented 2 years ago

@bilkishgautham did we talk about this?

Need to check with @ExperimentsInHonesty about https://www.scfta.org/ and https://www.youthlinc.org/

If yes, please note what we decided.

If we didn't make sure that the question is clear in the issue, and add a link to the issue comment in the agenda.

bilkishgautham commented 2 years ago

@ExperimentsInHonesty We did not discuss this. Here is what I wanted to ask.

  1. I wanted to check with you if I could make an exception and include scfta in my comparative analysis since it's an art based internship. I know we wanted to keep it to STEM but with keyword searches I was not getting many unpaid internship orgs.
  2. Youthlinc runs a paid internship program but this is not STEM either. Now that we have many paid internships we can scratch this off. This is more of social work related internship. So this question is no longer relevant. Added to the meeting agenda as well.
