Female Mentor Recruitment Message

Hi NAME,

We are currently seeking female software engineers to serve as mentors for Hack for LA's summer Internship program. The internship is June 22nd thru July 29th and would involve on average 2-3 hours per week. Mentors are not paid for their time, but this would be a great opportunity to invest in the next generation of technology professionals.

We received quite a few responses from male mentors this year, but we have not had any female or non-binary software engineers respond to our interest form. If you know of community groups in your organization that are interested in volunteer opportunities, would you mind sharing this message to them? The mentor interest form link is here, and additional information can be found here.

Using the internship gmail account, I emailed the following requesting if they were available tomorrow at either 5pm or 7pm PST for an onboarding session:

• Satyajit C.
• Jonathan K.
• Emerson C.

Did not email the following respondents:

• Robert E. -- Said that they had not been a Hack for LA volunteer before
• Garima C. -- Did not respond to HfLA questions or provide a Slack handle
• Dean C. -- Is already assigned to an intern

Note: I did not use the mail merge feature, because I didn't know how to do that.

@Rabia2219 I believe this issue is done with the exception of the one mentor that Ava mentioned that could potentially be onboarded by Bonnie separately. If you think this issue is done, then please close. Thank you!
