  1. Progress
    • I have collated the websites contact emails and numbers on the sheet. I also have a draft template below ready to be sent out but would like to review it with the team before sending it out.
    • Also, if the doc format in the email is okay, do I give the company edit or view access?

Email template:

Hi (contact/org name),

I hope this email finds you well.

My name is Grace Amaogu. I am a Product Manager with HackforLA's Internship Program. We partner with high schools and colleges in LA by offering summer internship programs.

We would like to list your organization on our website so students we refer can contact you for internship placements. We were able to gather some information from your website about services you offer and would like to ask a few more questions about those not listed so we have the right information.

We have complied your services in this document and would like to know what your responses are to the empty fields.

If we missed out any of your services, you can add them at the bottom of the document. If we got any wrong also, do let us know.

We appreciate your time while you work with us on this and look forward to your reply.

Regards, Grace Amaogu

Letter draft. Let's talk about this at the next meeting.

I am reaching out to you on behalf of Hack for LA's Internship Program. We want to list your organization on our website so that students and their families who are looking for an internship, and don't gain entrance to ours, can find out about the services you offer.

We were able to gather some information from your website about services you offer, but could not find any information on the following:

  1. Do you offer any international internship opportunities
  2. What are your deadlines for the various internship opportunities you offer
  3. Do you offer academic credits
  4. What are the hours of support

Best, Grace

@gracieama While doing my keyword analysis I found organizations that do paid internships. Please analyze these as well. Some may already be on your analysis sheet so please ignore those. https://www.theinterngroup.com/ https://internshala.com/ https://www.virtualinternships.com/ https://www.polygence.org/ https://romeromentoring.com/

Progress: I have sent out the email to 2 organizations so far

Capital placement has responded asking we schedule a call with them to get our questions answered

Blockers: I am going through their website again to make sure the information I'm asking of them is not already there so that's taking up some extra time.

Availability: due to my health, I have less hours to do any useful work but I'll keep sending the emails when I can

gracieama commented 2 years ago

Questions to ask Capital Placement on the call:

  1. Do the interns receive evaluation & feedback on their performance from the Companies they get to work with?
  2. Do the interns get a drafted internship work plan from your company that tells them what to expect during their internship and guides them while on it?
  3. As part of the coaching/mentoring interns are offered by your company, do they get career development trainings
  4. Do interns receive academic credits at the end of their internship?
  5. What are your hours and process of providing support to interns?
  6. e.g: some companies like yours offer 24/7 support
