Mission: To provide a single source of truth as the backend infrastructure and data store for Hack for LA projects, including data about people, program areas, and projects.

Marketing Objective (KPI): Our marketing objectives will be tied to those of our stakeholders (currently VRMS, CTJ, and the Website team), and will consist primarily of enabling and facilitating those stakeholders' KPIs

Primary Target Audience: H4LA sponsors and partners

Secondary Audience: potential and new H4LA members

Location: LA and global

Timeline: xx/xx-xx/xx

Key Events: Data Privacy Day (Jan 28); National Cloud Database Day (June 1); DBA Appreciation Day (first Friday of July)

Other Important Information: Project context = The hardest part about running a large organization using only free or open source tools and technologies is how to manage the flow of information and provide relevant info to all the people and projects that need it. Managing multiple databases inefficiently can end up taking more time than the projects themselves. This project seeks to create a maintainable database infrastructure that is synchronized. In the process, it will do away with manual storage of duplicate information across projects, and allow for the automation of key tasks across the organization including: recruiting and onboarding members, helping members find roles on projects, and ensuring that access to personal information is fully secure.
