Overview

As a new developer on the HfLA website team, fill in the following fields as you complete each onboarding item.

Special Notes

1. It may take you a few weeks to finish this issue, because part of it is learning how to provide updates on issues that take more than a week to complete. Please keep this issue open until you have been able to do all the steps.
2. Usually we don't want to you have more than one issue assigned to you at a time, this issue is the exception, because it is instructions on how to work on other issues.
3. The action items listed below should mostly be worked on in a sequential order. However, you don't have to wait on one if you can proceed with the others, For instance, you don't have to wait for attending a weekly meeting before setting up your dev environment.

What should I do if I have a question about an issue I'm working on, and I haven't gotten a response yet?

Hi, @ExperimentsInHonesty thanks for checking. I have my local environment set up, I can see the VRMS website when docker is up. Was excited to move fwd so I picked a good first issue, It was something like changing the alt text of an image in a file. Ok sounds easy enough, I found the file and text to change. So I make the change, and I'm wondering where on the website on my computer, can i see this change? I reach out to the original creator of the issue to ask and he tells me this is not an issue for devs. I was supposed to pick another issue from another board and was promptly removed from the current issue. So that is where I am at. Will give it another go, but I'd still like to know the answer to my original question. I'm hoping the next issue will be better. The Slack group is very helpful.

Also, just FYI,the calendar invites I got in my email from HFLA, when you try to confirm, it goes to a bad page.

Currently completed 20 out of 34 , I set up my local environment using docker, I completed my first good issue. I am now at the reviewing Pull requests section of the list.
