I updated to Catalina 10.15 (Anyone working on this)? #9

Hey guys,

Hope y'all are doing well I cannot find anyone trying to do anything with Catalina but I updated the Mac OS on my i7-6560u xps 13 9350 hackintosh.

It's working okay except that facetime camera is not working, touch screen is not working. Trackpad scrolling is horrible, it jumps, skips too much of the information at once in finder, safari etc. etc.

Also, usbs, keyboards, and trackpad seem to be stopping working after sleep but it doesn't happen always. After 3-4 sleep cycles, you start to see the problems with disconnected devices etc. etc.

Hi, did you use bootdisk or upgrade from mojave ? I'm still stuck in high sierra since cannot boot using mojave install disk

Hi ,you can update clover and kext (attention :VirtualSMC should be 1.06)to the lastet version so that you may use the MacOS 10.15 .My current problem is trackpad seems not functional.

@ltesla this kext makes the trackpad work but the scrolling is horrible and the touchscreen is still not working. [DELETED FILE - ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext.zip] (Edit: see next post)

I opened an issue on VoodooI2C page because none of the VoodooI2C kexts are working on Catalina (which makes the trackpad and touchscreen work).

@ltesla okay with this shitty ApplePS2SmartTouchPad driver. I fixed the scrolling problem. Turns out I had to edit the plist to turn of 2 finger continous scrolling. Here is the newest PS2SmartTouchPad kext. ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext.zip

Touchscreen is still not working.

Everything is working right now on Catalina. All fixed.

Yes, everything is working here. I'm on Catalina now. Just use one of the hackintosh guides for Catalina to create boot disk on any mac or hackintosh.

@dogaoz how about the Efi, do you use the Mojave or high sierra EFI?

you have to update to the latest clover and forget about high sierra EFI, it’s too old now.

Use mojave config.

@dogaoz Thanks for the tips, have you tried sidecar ? Is it work in our 9350 ?

I haven’t tried it because I don’t have an iPad but it shows up in the system preferences and it is available to use.

not functional on my 9350,my Bluetooth didn't work out

after changing Bluetoothinjector ,my XPS can use the bluetooth.

BTW,is anyone working on the Opencore project of 9350?it seems will start much faster

No idea. I got the kext from XPS 9360’s github repo but it didn’t work on my 9350. It recognizes that there is a camera but it doesn’t show any image from the webcam feed.

I've installed catalina on my xps 9350. However it randomly shutsdown. The shutdown logs show normal shutdown. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

hey @dogaoz, you have any problem with sleep/wake hibernate issue? I'm using mojave and not solve this issue yet.

I always had sleep/wake issue. It works 3 out of 5 times. I stopped caring about it at this point since the laptop reboots fast. It’s been so frustrating but I cannot fix it no matter I’ve done. I think it’s something about USB mapping or USBs but I cannot figure it out. Maybe, it’s about something else
