I've got the code already in an example for the Data Science Pet Containers - might as well make it available to developers.

For those of us uninitiated in the GIS arts, could you briefly describe what this is and what we stand to gain if we were to add it? (Sorry I don't know much a lot about geographical DBs)

I think we are going to move this to our own API since we are exporting TriMet data
