I don't know anything about the PS3, nor do I own one. I have other consoles in the works, so I'll revisit this at a later time.

Hello, @Plailect. I have a lot of experience modding almost all consoles. I'm interested in making guides for ps3 and ps4. Please make the respective repositories, so I can start making them

I'm also willing to contribute to a ps3 guide but the official bgtoolset (used to flash a custom firmware) is currently down and many alternatives are based on a stripped down backup and potentially unsafe
