Evening Socials #17

Closed klgray25 closed 5 years ago

Hey guys. It looks like Mahony's is permanently closed as of this month. Is there anywhere else on or near campus that you UBC folks would recommend we move the Saturday evening social to? I have also sent a few emails to the Gallery to make a reservation for the Friday night (with NO food/drinks provided by us) and have not heard back yet - will keep following up.

Koerners or Point grill could be convenient alternatives

There is also Koerner's pub. BIG Research Day social last March was held there

We went to the Gallery last minute last year and it was nice.

Ok didn't read :P Biercraft at wesbrook but that's a bit of a walk

klgray25 commented 5 years ago

Koerner's Pub and Birecraft are about the same walking distance from the LSI according to Google. Should we stick with Koerner's since we know they have options for food/drinks for groups or try something new?

I haven't been to UBC's BeirCraft. I like Koerner's atmosphere. My vote is for Koerner's

Biercraft is nice but I think Koerner's is more student friendly, so let's go with them.

klgray25 commented 5 years ago

So, Koerner's doesn't usually open on the weekends at all. We would have to book the whole place out for them to serve us and there would be an hourly minimum we have to spend. I can inquire about what the cost of this would be, but I'm guessing it will be a little out of our budget. BierCraft?
