i have the same problem on my wildfire sense. my ip's are right, my password is
right, my pc can connect without setting any special settings. it doesn't even
have a username.. But when i click connect it says.. "VNC connection failed!
Server did not offer supported security type" im connecting via port 5900 but
port 5800 is for java clients that one just gets stuck on establishing
handshake please wait.
Im using real vnc on the pc im connecting to.

Same problem. Can't connect to a Windows XP machine (running RealVNC 4.5.4)
using MS Logon for security credentials. Works fine if I change the password
type on the server to a simple VNC password.

version of uvnc (1.0.5.6) worked fine, using same settings (Require MS Logon).

Server side is using RealVNC Enterprise 4.4.3, and I get the exact same
message. Tried it without having to input any passwords, same thing.

Hello, this problem is easy to fixed.
In the config of the vnc server modify your Encryption of the Authentication to
"Prefer on" and voila this app work perfectly.
Dont use "Always on" this app dont support encryption.

I hope they have served.

Bye

In addition to Claudio's fix I had to change Authentication to VNC Password to
successfully connect via androidVNC. Specifically, on my VNC Server:

Options | Connections (tab) | Security (group), Authentication: VNC password.

Many thanks claudio!
