Reporting Scope #26

Currently the report button says "Report Reddit Armie".

But what If i just want to report a regular spammer, does it make sense to use the application for this ? I feel like the scope of this extension could be bigger then just being about Reddit Armie, naming it after them alone is giving them to much credit already ( just my feeling ).

Maybe the button text could just be 'Hide user comments" or "Report and Hide" or something more general like that.

Any thoughts on that ?

Right now I have been ignoring spam and only removing fedora things. It is up to hadin but should we really be handling things like spam which should be YouTubes role? On Nov 30, 2014 4:57 PM, "helmus" notifications@github.com wrote:

I guess it's not really about spam only but more about focused trollers ( which is off course a large part of reddit ).

Youtube doesn't really allow you to block a users comments, just an individual comment. Or you can block a user, but it's cumbersome to do and it doesn't hides the comments. So that there is some value in offering that functionality I think.

A functionality for local blocking of anyone? On Nov 30, 2014 5:03 PM, "helmus" notifications@github.com wrote:

Yeah that should work already regardless of the intent why you are blocking someone => #24. Having an authored black list that you can subscribe to is just a handy extra feature. Just like how add block works ( it also has different subscription lists ). All tough having different types of lists might be a little overkill here, just one list is fine for now.

If we start expanding the scope in this list we are now censoring more than we promised.

I can add a local personal blacklist but I don't want the extension to become culltered with options and buttons.

Should there be a single button that submitts a report and puts a users to the local blacklist or should there be two separate buttons?

I was also thinking of putting the buttons to the dropdown on the right of the comment.

I think just one button. They report it and it automatically adds it locally as well. On Dec 1, 2014 1:50 AM, "Primož Hadalin" notifications@github.com wrote:

Then there should also be an option to unban users from local blacklist.

Should there only be profiles IDs listed on the options page?
