Thanks so much for this. I think I'll ping both @hadley and @thomasp85 on this one: do we want to change to a collective authorial voice? Seems to me that the arguments in favour are:
I could also make the argument against by noting that the first two editions has a strong "Hadley-style" authorial voice that we've mostly preserved, and shifting to the collective does slightly shift the feel of the text?
My personal opinion: I hadn't been particularly worried about the pronoun (heck I have a solo author book that still refers to me as "he" throughout), but now that Zeki has kindly opened this PR as the starting point, it seems like a good idea.
