Apparently the issue is bigger than this. I just played a bit on the first mission. And the enemies and the music wasn't playing. And guy kept asking "who is there" and whatever while they were ambushing me and shooting at me. Something is messed up with the intensities. Also before this I was walking around after the first shooting part with no enemies around, yet annoyingly the action theme kept playing. Quick saved and loaded then the music stopped, but when I got to the second shooting area I still heard the transition which happens when going from action to ambient.
Also I keep hearing music that I didn't during the action theme. The variant with the action theme with theremin in it which I definitely never heard playing normal NOLF.
And then again after killing the ambush. Some ambient theme was playing instead of the action theme, but a variant I don't normally hear, with some vocalizations included. Quick saved/loaded again. And the music got muted again. (Instead of the appropriate action music playing)
And the second scene in Morocco starts straight up with the action theme, which is of course wrong. It should start like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5qJ1Daf5R4
Yea the music code is buggy. I've had to do some fixes for NOLF 2 that I'm still tweaking. (The music code is essentially the same for both games.) So depending on how that goes, I can back-port it to NOLF 1. It won't be anytime soon though!

But this is not the bug with the game, if that's what you're implying. The original game never did this.

Hi!
Got anywhere with that? Recently played a bit. The music was the most defective thing about the game. Not quite how I described it a year ago. It can get stuck with any intensity level, even ones that are not used. Like there Moroccan one with the vocalizations, and the menu music in Nolf Theme, and I think bumpers sometimes. It often just stays silent.
It seems to me that when there's a change in state there's a high chance it will change to the wrong one, and it will be messed up thereafter. It also breaks on loading a save. (Which might be essentially the same thing as going from one intensity to another, as far as I know)
It sucks because it ruins significant part of the gameplay. Sometimes you can't tell that you're in action or that everything's settled down.
PS: Starting the jukebox is a temporary fix. If you select the music which should be playing it remains playing when you exit jukebox and go back to the game. Otherwise it gets silent.
Hi!
I've played a little recently. And rather frequently the game music starts inappropriately playing the action state and stays like that. Even though obviously no enemy is actually activated in such a way.
Often it happens some seconds after I kill an enemy with no-one else around. And I think sometimes it just won't stop when the last enemy is finished. Sometimes it happens with no apparent cause.
