Syncing problems #2843

I have Seafile client running on both my Macbook and my Windows desktop, both latest version. After working on some files on my Mac and then saving to a synced folder, the Seafile client on Mac gives me the message "The path contains symbols that are not supported by the windows system", and on Windows gives me "File is locked by another application". I've been struggling with these sporadic errors for days on end now. I have searched previous issues and there is is no clear explanation as to how they arise and how they can be resolved. I don't think an incompatible symbol should be enough to prevent it from syncing an entire directory. Further more, it's incomprehensible to me how such an error can be displayed with no insights into the files that are causing the errors.

I would really appreciate any help. I'm not exaggerating when I say these issues are driving me to the edge of my sanity. Thank you.

The error mesage "The path contains symbols that are not supported by the windows system" is just for your information. It doesn't affect syncing. But the files with those symbols in file names cannot be synced to Windows.

"File is locked by another application" means that the files displayed for this error are opened by some local applications and cannot be updated by Seafile client. You should open the "File syncing errors" dialog to see which files are locked.
