No slideshow support #557

Closed bobbaluba closed 8 years ago

bobbaluba commented 10 years ago

When viewing family photos and similar using the web client, it is very annoying to have to scroll down each time you go to the next picture.

Adding a slideshow feature should be relatively easy, and would be greatly appreciated.

This problem is most visible on low resolution wide screen TVs. Example: screenshot from 2014-03-02 14 45 06

This has also been mentioned in issue #366

yepp would have been nice that pictures was resized to height of the display, case in point

better picture viewer

this picture is the dimensions of the seafile page and its height is 1625, i have a 1920x1200 monitor...the picture is way to big, btw am running 3.0.0 beta, but the same is in older versions too, same in firefox and chrome

some picture improvments we would love to have for home use!

  1. scale down images based on monitor height
  2. thumb view (different sizes)
  3. fullscreen slideshow (play, stop, choose speed)

this will make seafile perfect for showing family photos and videos

nwgat commented 10 years ago

and if this is added to next beta, am pretty sure we will donate a magic :8ball:

nwgat commented 10 years ago

proper picture view please i was bored, so here is a decent mockup

nwgat commented 10 years ago

might be a good idea to use http://www.frescojs.com/ as fullscreen, its based on jquery :) on second taught blueimp gallery might suit better, i forgot to check license, blue imp has a mit license and is in your very own backyard! :) @ https://github.com/blueimp/Gallery

:+1: for a gallery view like owncloud is doing.

Also please take into account that a user can have large number of photos. Owncloud does not support it well and end with memory overflow or is trying to load 30Mb of thumbnails in a single step.

dmsmidt commented 9 years ago

Yes please for gallery support! I like the blueimp swipe / responsive features. Support for a mixed video/images library would be great.

It really needs some kind of thumbnail/gallery feature, browsing Images on the iOS-Client or the Webinterface is pretty hard when you have more than 20 images in one library and you search a certain photo as human.

LaurentMox commented 9 years ago

Agreed, we really miss this thumbnail feature !

thecosmicfrog commented 9 years ago

Going to throw my support for this in too. Whenever I share photos with my family using Seafile (it's my primary means of doing so), I always regret that there is no proper gallery functionality like Google Photos, ownCloud, Flickr, etc.

+1

ghost commented 9 years ago

This looks very nice!! https://github.com/blueimp/Gallery Photo preview/gallery would be a much appreciated feature, for sure!

stefanandres commented 9 years ago

The current version (4.x) has some kind of basic thumbnail support in the web-ui.

ghost commented 9 years ago

ok.Thanks. Is this also available in the demo https://seacloud.cc , or it's not running the latest version?

stefanandres commented 9 years ago

I don't know, but it looks like this in my installation:

A gallery-function would be really nice. I tested Seafile because OwnCloud has too much overhead and i like SeaFile more than OwnCloud. A gallery would be nice if you want to share some photos from your holidays.

Alukardd commented 9 years ago

Hi, all!

Can anybody tell me what I should do for generating and viewing thumbnails for all my images? I have Server Version: 4.2.3. In seahub/seahub/settings.py I have ENABLE_THUMBNAIL = True

Alukardd commented 9 years ago

Oh, It is my fail: I have had wrong SERVICE_URL in my ccnet.conf

johanhelsing commented 8 years ago

This has improved a lot, but is IMO this is still not completely solved.

There is a lot of wasted space above/below and on the sides. What I would have liked to see, is a mode where the background is completely black and the pictures take the maximum width available on the screen.
