Cannot download metalink #128

I downloaded several wubi installers and tried running them. They all end up with the same quesiton, which is 'cannot download metalink, please see xxx log'

Please see log to get more information about the error.

e.g.

There is no existing ISO and no internet connection. If there is a working internet connection, the log contains also the tried links to download the ISO.

Links to *.metalink are DEAD. UBUNTU releases 14, 16, 18, 20 What to do, who to write to?
