WUBI with mini.iso? #93

Hi, I was wondering if there are any plans to release a version of wubi that uses the Ubuntu minimal installer or if it is possible. I have had some issues trying to install Ubuntu and I have had to download the iso a couple times. I think it might be useful to be able to download the minimal installer so that if wubi fails I don't have to wait for Ubuntu to download again.

There are some advantages of a minimal installer. So there are also plans to use it.

But IMHO, in your case it is not really an advantage. You save time for downloading of the ISO but the minimal installer itself needs a lot of additional downloads to get a full desktop environment.

Additionally, Wubi can use existing desktop ISOs. So it is possible to manually download ISOs with zsync which downloads only the parts of the ISO that are changed.
