The current setup is rather complicated.

tatodetect requires an obscure cppcms and doesn't build in the latest version. The ngrams.db generator is written in Python and rarely updated.
nihongoparserd converts Japanese characters to kana/romanji
suggestd is an autocompletion service

All three implement their own webserver and API interface.

Note that we don’t use nihongoparserd anymore as I reimplemented it in Python. The only catch is that I just installed it by hand on the production server and it is not set up on VMs by Imouto yet.
