[Question] SynthusMaximus and PerkusMaximus Viability? #7

Greetings,

I don't mean to sound cynical, but I recognize that PerMa was quite... a massive hassle for users back in the day; this was mostly due to having to hunt down XML patches and just straight up not having them for other mods in the load order without clarity as to what constituted the necessity for these patches from the user perspective.

With that said, I see that SynthusMaximus seems to intend to supersede PerMa's implementation but... is the implementation going to cause JSON hell instead of XML hell? I can't imagine every mod author on the Nexus jumping on the PerMa wagon again; I imagine it's a lot of work and, if there isn't some kind of clear automated handler for this, how could this be more ergonomic for installation? (Not that the old PCAPP page is coming to SSE either, of course)

Is there something I'm not understanding or am I right in thinking PerMa's days are numbered because of how it would have to be handled? If I'm wrong, is there something that should be done both on the official SSE PerMa and/or SynthusMaximus pages to clarify that?
