Slider not showing on iOS and UWP #98

That's it, just not showing on iOS and UWP while in Android is working perfectly. No exceptions, no crashes, just not showing. Xamarin.Forms .NET standard project, could be that the problem? Any suggestion ?

I'm afraid i can't reproduce it on a blank project and i can't share the project itself. But... stacktrace here :

i do have them, just now i realized that [assembly: Xamarin.Forms.Platform.WinRT.ExportRenderer(typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSlider), typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSliderRenderer))] was a bit too old so i changed it for : [assembly:Xamarin.Forms.Platform.UWP.ExportRenderer(typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSlider), typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSliderRenderer))]

Now UWP works ! But iOS keeps crashing on init, same stacktrace

I'm also getting problems with versions 0.7.3 to 0.7.11 on Windows. Sometimes there is a "missing RangeSliderInitialization.cs" error which goes away after an uninstall and reinstall, but whether there is this error or not, nothing shows up.

0.6.18 is good.

@halkar I'm afraid is not there, but anyways, we solved it a few days ago. Seems like it was because the slider was inside a popup on a tabbed page and windows way to manage gesture events didn't like it very much. The problem seems to be related with the press gesture inside of another focus. I will try to gather some extra information soon and and pm you, in case is useful to you.

About how he solved it, we had all the popups as custom controls and we were managing them through the page bindint context and viewmodel. We had to migrate all of them to be views with their own viewmodel with another library. Now, as we open modal pages to open the popups they are not messing around with windows gestures focus and everything is working smoothly.

On Win81 nothing shows with 0.7.13, even with uninstall and reinstall. RangeSliderInitialization.cs files are not present. Adding [assembly: Xamarin.Forms.Platform.WinRT.ExportRenderer(typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSlider), typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSliderRenderer))] doesn't work as RangeSliderRenderer isn't found in Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms

UWP is OK. iOS and Android untested.

I can't get the slider to show in iOS; however it works well in UWP. Been following the suggestions to get around this with no luck, probably missing something stupid. On the Mac I have: Visual studio 2017 version 7.5.2 Xamarin Forms 3.1.0.583944 Rangeslider 0.7.36 .Net Core Runtime versions 2.1.1, 2.0.5/ SDK 2.1.301 , 2.1.4 Xamarin iOS 11.12.0.4

I ran it without the assembly ref (as suggested above) and the slider does not show. Also tried re-stalling the package. The app does run with Master pages, and the Slider is in a Rg.Plugins.Popup modal popup. On iOS project, Main.cs I added the assembly ref, then I get the error:

Solution

  1. Clone this repo.
  2. Copy all the below listed .png files into Resources directory of the IOS project.
    • slider-default7-handle-disabled.png -slider-default7-handle-disabled@2x.png -slider-default7-handle.png -slider-default7-handle@2x.png -slider-default7-trackBackground.png -slider-default7-trackBackground@2x.png

  1. Make sure this line is present in the app delegate.cs [assembly: Xamarin.Forms.ExportRenderer(typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSlider), typeof(Xamarin.RangeSlider.Forms.RangeSliderRenderer))]

  2. Clean and re-build the solution.

  3. Run the App.
