When attempting to load a new video - the screen will become black and not play any video. The only fix is to use alt + tab to "show it again"

Also dual monitors - have to logout completely and back in to get them both to have video.,

When loop is over, video flashes for split second.

I've definitely noticed a difference depending on the version of Qt, GPU, video driver, compositor (settings) and codec. My nVidia laptop using proprietary drivers, X, OpenGL 3.1, Qt 5.9.2 and mp4 works flawlessly (including dynamic swapping from 1 to 3 monitors). My work laptop with matching configuration except using Intel video and X gets video freezes between each iteration, however the same laptop using Wayland is smooth and flawless. To help troubleshoot more, I would need machine specs and settings.

As a couple of notes, I do only use it for my lock screen (not wallpaper) and this is the only project that I maintain but for which I've never written a single line of code.
