The generate_mobile_diagram() would exit when the system is empty -- this behaviour has now been changed in 11b1430.

I have a question. What so you mean 'when the system is empty'? Is there no remnant, as in k=15? If yes, how does this happen?

In some cases, BSE (hence MSE) assumes that no remnant is left after a merger event. For example, this is the case when two He WDs merge and explode in a SNe.
