gene_def help #80

Hey everyone, this may sound like a newbee question but I need help editing my 
gene_def file to something more conducive to the current market. I've read the 
gene def wiki but I still don't understand what it means. I want to change my 
markup to something in the 2-5% range but I don't understand what variables to 
change. A point in the right direction or any help would be appreciated.
