Sync fails after login on Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) #45

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch app
2. Start 'sync'
3. Authenticate via Google website
4. App drops back to previous screen with 'Logged in' message, but attempts to
'sync' return you to login page again

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to have remote bookmarks synchronised to handset - appears that the
auth process causes an internal exception.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- Product version: 0.6.4
- Android version: 2.3.2
- Handset: Nexus S

Please provide any additional information below.

Interesting... This sounds like there's a cookie I'm not catching that is
needed to make remote requests.

Are you by any chance using two-factor auth?

I'm sure I can fix this, but I suspect if you go to settings/ app management
and clear data for GMarks and try it again it might work on the second try.

Thanks for the report!

The problem came up when I was still not using two-factor auth. Once I was, the
problem persisted.

Removing the application data and retrying again worked around it. I might have
unchecked the "stay logged in" checkbox the first time around.

Thank you for your work. :)

There may still have been an underlying auth issue; it should now be fixed with
v0.6.7

I'm having the same problem in a Samsung Galaxy ACE (GT-S5830L, with
gingerbread 2.3.4), and GMarks 0.6.8.

I tried deleting data and cache, but didn't work. Also tried un installing it
and reinstalling.

Before to return to the login view, it shows me ni background my google tags,
so I think it actualy achives to login. Could it be a problem related to being
unable to understand the google output?
