Improve search by author and year #232

Search of the citation plugin is very if you know/remember the title of the publication you want to cite. However, (at least I) very often remember the author and the year of publication. Unfortunately, searching by author and year brings rarely brings good results, quite often even failing to bring the correct citation.

It would be great if search by author and year could be improved, possibly even including fuzzy search (i.e. if author is misspelled or year not correct.

I'm in the same situation.

Along the same lines, searching by author is awful (to remember and to type) if the name of the author has characters I don't use in my language.

For instance, if I type "Mariaa", "Mâriàa" won't come out. It's quite a nightmare with eastern Europeans names.

There is a "ignore diacritics" for the Omnisearch plugin. I think the same would be great for the citation search.

Some fuzziness in searching by author, as the OP suggests, would be great too.
