Doesn't really work well with fish

(vi mode user here.)

Before reading anything, I've tried with rlwrap fish, but it would be ineffective. Then I followed the warning I got, and tried with rlwrap --always-readline --no-children fish, but beside giving correct vi binding, it still makes fish pretty unusable, as

• the command line is not colored (probably least important)
• the "ghost" completion is not shown (the only feature why I'd use fish, tbh, otherwise I'm ok with bash)
• part of the line often becomes invisible
