libev detection fails on FreeBSD, so I duplicated the curl detection to use pkgconfig as well. Maybe some of the preceding code can be deleted now; I'm not familiar enough with configs & m4 to know.

Hello @dch,

I thank you for reporting the problem when compiling the program on the FreeBSD system. I added a few commits to the master branch, so that should be resolved now. Please check if the program configuration is working well, so that I can close this pull request.
