We could actually refer to https://github.com/harbaum/MiSTeryNano/blob/main/TROUBLESHOOTING.md which also covers this "what's needed for what to work".

But I am currently re-writing the M0S firmware to also work on Pi Pico (and eventually ESP32 although that has very limited USB host capabilities) and will migrate this into a seperate repository once working. This will then cover these topics in more detail.
