What does Unlucky Bears do? #10

I'm already an unlucky person, so seeing "Unlucky Bears" has made me a bit nervous. I know in vanilla bears are unaffected by luck. However, based on the luck mechanic I'm assuming the way Unlucky Bears works is by re-rolling a successful roll? I was doing some snooping through the code but my coding skills are very limited so I couldn't really make heads or tails of it. I did notice that the even-harder difficulty makes them "roll negatively" which I guess means you have a chance to take more damage?

It's indeed whst you say it is. On the bright side, the enemies also roll with negative luck.

Edit: I didn't want to open a new issue in-case it's just conformation bias but it feels like Unlucky Bears (not negative bears) is functioning in Monsoon. I had 5 bears which should be just about 43% chance to block damage and the void field seemed to be proccing closer to about 25% of the time. I disabled the mod and it seems normal now. However, RNG is fickle like that so I was wondering is it confirmation bias or is it actually happening?
