System tray icons look visually bugged after update of gnome shell

gzpr commented 1 year ago

I'm also on arch and while the 71 update seems to have fixed the icons being distorted they still lack transparency

jonian commented 1 year ago

@gzpr gnome has changed the implementation for the tray as you can see here. I can't do anything to fix the transparency. You should open an issue on the gnome issue tracker.

for me all fine almost now expect this little visual detail you can see there. can it be fixed? it looks bugged around the icons ss

jonian commented 1 year ago

@oveeauki that is the missing transparency issue. It can't be fixed in the extension.

gzpr commented 1 year ago

@jonian Is it even worth it since tray icons aren't technically even supported by gnome? Breaking things for no reason, classic gnome devs I guess.
