Thanks for the heads-up. I'll try out the new firmware in the next few days and let you know. Note you can always switch back to the previous version of firmware if your upgrade is not good by changing the boot options via a serial terminal (or the using the terminal() function in a sketch with the WiFlyHQ library).
Thanks for responding, I await your feedback regarding the new firmware, it seems that is promising!

I haven't experienced any issues with backwards compatibility (so far). The only thing that they depreciated was apparently the wps command.
Finally had time to try out the latest 4.0 firmware on my WiFly. No problems, seems good so far. I had to change the ftp IP address to the new one provided by microchip, but besides that easy upgrade.

The Roving Networks has updated the firmware version of WiFly RN-XV to version 4.0 reportedly much has changed, so I wonder whether if I upgrade the firmware of my modules, will have some breaks in operation using your library?
