add FA readers, adapt for initialised interpolations #1

Quite a lot of changes at once, I know. But otherwise the intermediate commits would be broken in some ways. This adds FA support and initialisation of interpolation to station points.

This is a pull request on top of the previous one. Some fixes to the reader functions, but also seq_dates needed some enhancements to work in harpSpatial.
