In Dec 2019, the latticeExtra package released v0.6-29 which requires R v3.6. I am not sure if the package actually needs 3.6, or if it was added as a mistake.
There is no bug to report, but wanted to let you know. At the office, we don't always get control over the R version installed and the update schedule.
