shift arrow breaks when a user goes offline

I can not get a model for an offline contact and because the tab/xuldeck display is model driven it fails when the user goes off line

example tabs = [1,2,3,4] 2 is active 3 goes off line if you shift arrow right you can not get to 3 or 4 because the model for 3 is gone!
