NoamGaash commented 8 months ago

Add a new page to the website, that will list ideas for data research tasks. Each section will have:

sections

  1. Research - ‏what affect does the traffic have on the overal execusion time of bus ride? Description: ‏calculating the standard deviation of bus ride durations can indicate problems with traffic.
  2. Research - Calculate time estimation for when the bus left it's origin
  3. Research - how to classify bus-lines to meaningful geographical clusters

I will work on this one, please assign me :)

NoamGaash commented 6 months ago

Thank you @DafnaPundak ! Welcome :balloon:

NoamGaash commented 4 months ago

@DafnaPundak let us know where are you standing and if you need any help! If you're still on this issue, please let us know and you'll be re-assigned Thanks!

DafnaPundak commented 4 months ago

@NoamGaash Apologies for the delay. I have finished most of the requirements, but I am struggling with the Jupyter implementation. I will push my work and then discuss the problems with you to decide whether I should continue with this issue or not.

NoamGaash commented 4 months ago

@DafnaPundak Thank you! A jupyter implementation? I'm not sure it's required here. Feel free to split your work to several smaller steps

futuremobilitylabTAU commented 3 months ago

Hi, I wanted to check progress on assignment number 3, 'How to classify bus lines into meaningful geographical clusters.' I am considering conducting a literature review to identify the recommended methods used in studies on this topic. @DafnaPundak @NoamGaash

NoamGaash commented 3 months ago

@futuremobilitylabTAU Thanks! How can we help?

futuremobilitylabTAU commented 3 months ago

Update me on what has been done so far on the subject, (3) I see that someone has taken the issue. :) @NoamGaash

NoamGaash commented 3 months ago

@futuremobilitylabTAU I think @DafnaPundak disappeared, I'm not aware of any progress she has done. this resource can be helpfull: https://data.gov.il/dataset/tahaz_clusters

futuremobilitylabTAU commented 3 months ago

Alright, I'm on it. I anticipate completing the literature review by July 10th. Once i done, I'll reach out, and together we can decide on the best course for development from serval available options. @NoamGaash

NoamGaash commented 3 months ago

Sounds amazing! Feel free to consult and use the community by opening issues and asking questions on slack / discord. Everyone is here to help

DafnaPundak commented 3 months ago

Hi, @NoamGaash @futuremobilitylabTAU Sorry for the huge delay, I was on vacation.

As you probably saw, I completed the skeleton tasks (widget, title, description) of this page.

Maybe there is a misunderstanding? @NoamGaash opened a new issue (#768) that details what still needs to be done on that page (the Swagger and the Jupyter notebook) after you approved my PR.

NoamGaash commented 3 months ago

Thanks! But it's not just about adding components, it's also about writing the text, raising ideas and help with the research. The goal is to give researches the tools they need to get started easily. We can start with adding link to example notebook, or a link to the swagger, but the harder task is describing the task in a way that motivates researches to use our data

NoamGaash commented 3 months ago

@DafnaPundak you're focusing on the FE side, and @futuremobilitylabTAU your strength is the research side. If you'll join powers, the result can be amazing. Anyway, the important part here is the research, the texts, and bringing data scientists to the project - so as far as I concern, we can add this as plain text

futuremobilitylabTAU commented 3 months ago

I would be happy to collaborate @DafnaPundak @NoamGaash . As mentioned, I will prepare a literature review on the subject by the 10 July. After that, we can discuss our next steps on one of the monday meetings.
