Currently the attribution looks like this:
Rights / Creator: Creative Commons
Source: http://www.flickr.com/photos/zooboing/4925619588/sizes/m ** It should look like this: Photo "Together" by Lefteris Heratakis http://nopsa.hiit.fi/pmg/viewer/photo.php?id=3554 is licensed with Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 license http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/deed.en
All the the needed information can be retrieved through Nopsa and Flickr APIs.
Photo "name of the photo" by "author name" "source" is licensed with "name of the license or public domain" "URI of the license"
what if we don't know "name of the photo" and "author name" ?, how should it look then?
It would be better to use "Image" rather than "Photo" as the used image might not be a photo. Image"image title not available" by "author name not available"
neither NOPSA, nor any other source provides API for "name of photo". Perhaps LOC does but I will have to look into their API in detail (anyways, we can currently not using that source). "author name" and "license type" is sometimes not known, what should I put in those cases? A link listing all possible FOSS licenses ?
I have added this format to the addin, please look at the new addin. PS: I have removed "name of image"
The Name of the image is something that the license requires from the proper attribution. If there is no "title of the work", then fine, but the system should try to get it and use it if it is available.
The current version does not seem to support the author name. I tried using images which do have author name in Nopsa, but the last slide said "Image by Unknown, Nopsa".
In addition the license points to a license root folder, when it should point to http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/
The last slide with attributions should have:
1) a small thumbnail of the image placed next to the CC information. This way it is possible to know which image is related to which attribution.
2) there could be an URL to the page where the user can download or read more about the Ribbon.
