The real sad reason why I would not be able:

US & EU actions so far are inapt. The word of `fascism` still was not mentioned once. "We do not know what he thinks & would do" - is the sign of inaptness. While Putin & Russia exposed all of the signs of [faschism](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpCKkWMbmXU) in plane sight. I guess western politics in 24 years of working with Russia - never managed to put it together. I guess diplomates guide by mustashes & hats & bandages to distinguish nazies, rather than politics. Putin & his soldiers does not wear them, simply to not be obvious, because they learned from WWII to not be flashy & obvious with blings. US & EU continuously sacrificed the main weapon in controlling Russia - Ukraine (we know everything about them & we are fighting the war of independence for at least 500 years), Russia tells directly what it fears - powerful Ukraine, collaboration of Ukraine & EU & NATO. Russian government understands only force application before they do action, understand only force and numbers, collective offense (offense is precisely the best defense, here) & defense. US & EU continuously do what Putin awaited from them, so who luring into the trap who. Sanctions are vacuous, because weapons are already built, soldiers are already brainwashed & trained, everything is delivered assembled & in the motion, Russia built a huge war chest & have a secret pact with China, the economic streams of Russia simply would be redirected into, hidden & laundered in China - the biggest & central piece of economy in the world & China would pretend to be neutral, until Russia does the initial dirty work. EU economics were for decades continuously profiting from helping Putin & Russian kleptocracy (helping & blaming them for kleptocracy) - gathering & laundering & deposit interest compounding their money. Sorry me please, Gazprom & other such companies are 50% government, 50% private - a perfect scheme to steal any amount of money from the company legally. Putin is one of the wealthiest people on earth, with at least 12-20 huge palaces alone, he can wage war against Ukraine & Europe from his own pocket. Who allowed to give him such power? It is precisely because the Western world frequently only talks about values & when there is time to control situation - they take passive reactionary position, when there is a time to protect own safety & dignities of others - they escape & hope nothing would happen, but somehow happy to launder blood money & collude & further efforts with nazi nuclear state & help to keep Ukraine down. While Russia is precisely what tries to destroy Europe democracies & solidarity, play them against each other & conquer into domination over Europe. When Putin puts armies & nuclear missiles into Ukraine, Belarus, & Kaliningrad - Lithuania & Latvia would be next & they know that & they know Russians, so Lithuania, as small as it is - continuously was & is helping Ukraine. One of the best times Ukraine had, was when Ukraine was [Kingdom of Ruthenia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Galicia%E2%80%93Volhynia) (in old Slavic pronounced "Kingdom of Rus'", guess who renamed the country to something strange in the history literature) as autonomy in [Grand Duchy of Lithuania](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Duchy_of_Lithuania). So somehow history connects us. The only old documents & literature Russians were not able to destroy originals & issue only rewritten sources available now, what originals were saved - somehow are mostly documents stored in Vilnius. & history trolls them - Russians still want to conquer the mother Kyiv Rus & can not conquer the Kingdom of Rus, which is very ironic. So it is nothing new for Ukrainians, but it is a surprise that the west keeps helping Russia & expects that everything would be great. They would not be able to hold Ruthenians/Ukrainians, we look alike & speak alike, we can pretend to be "pro-Russian". So how would they handle the situation - precisely - mass killing who they can & all others would be dumped in winter in Siberia onto the ground. It would be another genocide Russia does, with the caveat it would be the biggest one in the history. For a Ukrainian citizen, it is several times harder to get Haskell work than for a Russian citizen. Great arrangement, helps the situation tremeneoudly. Now because in 3 years of job search I was continuously refuted to be hired to any meaningful work, I was not given the possibility to move out of the war zone - these projects would not be maintained by me & community would loose in this specialist, I probably would go into army to kill nazi invaders that literally tell we are not a nation & not worth existing - to defend, to die for the world against the nazi nuclear state all others in the world were collaborating in creating. It is not Ukrainian responsibility, it was & is the world responsibility to control the nazi nuclear state that signed a secret pact with the other biggest communist nuclear state. If we do not stop them now - we would not be able to stop them later. So how we left alone - they would destroy the world by domino effect, if everybody would be throwing values on the wind & saying that they stand alone & away - you are just standing dominos then.

Hi Anton, I really wanted to leave a supporting comment here, even though I cannot do much more than that. It is certainly okay for you to step down from your maintainer job, and you did a tremendous job at it. I understand your concerns about Russia, and feel you frustration about EU and NATO politics. The situation looks really bad and uncertain. I hope there will be some way through these alarming times for you, your family, and the rest of Ukraine.

I am reaching out to you, because in hard times I quickly understood that we all are together. That in reality we can reach to whoever we want and hold a dialog about whatever is needed & do whatever we mutually decided. In war the people should throw away all the system that restricts actions & operate on the human value system.

Only in help with each other & protecting shared values we can stand against this.

US/EU governments & banks (as "London laundromat") were essentially holding Ukraine down & collaborating with bully treterous Russian nazi nuclear totalitarian government. They helped to raise the beast, now nazi nuclear totalitarian government has huge gold pile for war chest, kleptocracy has enough money to essentially hold the WWIII on their money alone, Russia even not mobilized own nation & Belarus & Kazashstan - who obviously would join at some point.

Now Taiwan awaits invasion. Taiwan was/is put into same position as Ukraine, almost all countries renounced Taiwan in favour of Chine. Now, when there would be fitting moment - China would invade Taiwan & most countries can't even address Taiwan invasion judicially - they judicially pretended it was not existing in the first place. Imagine world chip shortage after that & its implications.

Imagine playing the chess & so far US/Europe chosen skip the moves & wait until Putin makes another move & think how to respond to it. They are reactionary, not active, it is a loosing strategy which is dangerous to all of us.

I am reaching out to you - because Putin & China have a pact to change the balance in the world in their favour & press US/EU as much as possible to gradually decay them, or even conquer, Putin dreams to conquer all USSR states back & was furious that many of them joined NATO. Putin speaks in reverse, he tells we can not allow Ukraine to join EU & NATO, we have security concerns - he uses reverse logic statements, he lies by telling the truth - he really scared of Ukraine joining NATO, or Ukraine joining forces with NATO. He is scared of European values & so tries to detest them, inside own territories especially, pro-russians frequently degrade into being essentially aggressive drunk animals.

His restoration plans includes parts of EU & he dreams of being a restorator of Russia Greatness, people suffering & economy are only a means to be used. US/EU need to know that it is a WWII history again, seems sad that politicians not learned that enough, it is safer & more effective to unite & strike with all possible forces first, before Russia makes another moves.

So far seem they play the "West", it is time for the "West" to wake up, diplomats constantly talk "we made an error not treating it seriously enough" - they should treat it with most seriousness possible, a united front would save Ukrainer & Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania - ask Lithuanians - they know. Ask old fighters against the opressor - about the enemy - they know the image, what is planned. We either need to take the lead in this process or it can be a bloodbath on European soil.

I am civilian also, but when war comes suddenly you are a sportsman, a politician, a social worker, a doctor, a diplomat, and an armymen, the killer of the enemy.

Overall - Ukraine stands very strong, we all are ready to fight the horde, our morale is very high & their morale is very low - their military worldview depends on that Russia is a hero of fighting against fashism & word 'fashism' - is at key play here - if we able to put the words that they serve 'fashists' government - in their heads - their moral would so low & they would have an epiphany that they essentially own arch nemesis, their officers grandparents all fought in WWII against fashism - their propaganda would fall, and their military maybe even can be turned to depose the government.

But that needs all the world to spread this information.
