Remove trailing whitespaces and switch to newer lts #68

Sorry, I can't stand trailing white space, so I decided to clean 'em up. Also I noticed that I did it already for some modules in #67 so I thought I'd create a separate PR just for white space removal, just so I can reduce the diff for an already pretty big PR.
