reverts to content prior to #276

In some way, maybe we shouldn't have changed these lines, since they're part of a "historical record", that is, a change log. On the other hand, I don't think this ancient commit log has any continuing value—perhaps we should cut it.

You're right that it isn't worth fixing Changelog.old but it's worth keeping around.
