Error reporting by overwriting current buffer is a bad idea. #10

It caused me to loose a small but important piece of code and I had to rewrite it. Would it not be a better idea to just use a separate buffer?

Yes. I am currently backpacking through Romania until the 30th of August, I'll look at this when I get back.
