In this case the archive should probably redirect to the login page, then proceed to the page requested, rather than returning the 403.

The opsdir list has a long history of being closed, and we've discussed how we might make it open before. There were directorate members with concerns about making the older archive open. (If I recall correctly, there was a discussion of making it open, and changing the list name, leaving the old list closed with its current name.) In any case, if you want change on that front, you are in the right role to drive it.

| by warren@kumari.netMany of the Directorate reviews (e.g: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/review-ietf-dmarc-rfc7601bis-03-opsdir-lc-dunbar-2018-10-31/ ) link into mailarchive - e.g: this one goes to https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/ops-dir/lH18v3AzEyXOw5DD-eCsXhim3R8 . I keep getting: "The force is not with you today You cannot jedi mind trick your way into viewing this page, try again later. " - this is even after going to https://mailarchive.ietf.org/ and making sure I'm logged in; it seems that there is something weird with caching, because, after some time, it starts working again....
Do we really need authentication for these links? (shouldn't our mail archives be public). If so, what about allowing access if one is following a link (so, if referrer is e.g datatracker?)
