Expression request error #203

When I add a simple expression to a graph in the latest Grafana, it will error out with a expression request error. Removing the expression and saving the graph fixes it again.

Issue has been reported here as well, including extra details. Updating Grafana might help, but latest version for us is 7.2.0

Please let me know if more info is required.

Edit: I just realized the version numbering used here does not correspond to the actual Grafana version (which is confusing to say the least ;)) and that 7.2.0 means Grafana 8.1.2. So the fix should probably come from the Grafana community. If so feel free to close this.
