This was removed previously https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-unifi/releases/tag/v1.0.0
That is not recommended or supported.
If you are going into these lengths, you should NOT use this add-on. A better alternative would be to either use a separate instance of the UniFi Network Application or terminal SSL using a reverse proxy.

@frenck I understand. To be fair I don't really expect support.
FYI the main reason I looked for using a real cert is because with the self signed cert you cant get to the UI unless you type "thisisunsafe" on your keyboard. the continue button is missing
This page explains the issue: https://cybercafe.dev/thisisunsafe-bypassing-chrome-security-warnings/
For me this was not related to support either. This was about you giving instructions no-one should be using.
@frenck sorry about that I was just trying to be helpful. I'll delete the instructions.
I know you where 👍
Its just that your reply came off as hostile at least to me.
Sorry I don't see any hostile reply or wording, nor is that my intention.
Problem/Motivation
Add the ability to use custom ssl certificates (similar to other services like NGINX etc)
