{{citation needed}}. I don't think you mean "outlawed" (which country's financial laws are we talking about, anyway?); I think you mean more like "frowned upon" or simply "uncommon".
I have never heard of this deprecation of Boost. But I know that at least 2 banks (including the one I'm currently working for) use Boost in some of their pricing applications. And a fintech company too.
