XRandR: Issue with auto-placement of windows #146

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. make two (reasonably sized) floating xterm windows: put them right in
the middle of both screens
2. select each one and make another floating xterm

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The window placement is not the same for both screens like i would expect.

For the first screen: when it finds that there isnt enough space to place
the window, it begins to cascade the windows.

On the second screen: in this same situation, it puts the new window on the
other screen

I first noticed this when i was using Pidgin (from the second screen), the
log viewer spawns two floating dialogs in a row, the first was where i
would expect it to be: on the second screen in the middle, but the second
dialog moved to the first screen due to this.

What version of the product are you using (wmii -v)? On what operating
system?

To clarify, I would expect the cascading window behavior on both screens, mainly
because of floating dialogs like the one above.
